Today has been a very chaotic week. And the insanity isn't even close to being over. Here's a quick rundown:
Wednesday: I attended the SquareSpace Meetup in Los Feliz. I actually was hesitant about going that night, since I was exhausted just from thinking about the 6 days ahead of me. But boy, am I glad I went. I got to the location around 8 and chatted with a few really cool people. After doing a little exploring when most everybody had left, I discovered that this particular establishment hosted a weekly residency featuring none other than Jeff Goldblum. That's right. Jeff. Fucking. Goldblum. He plays piano with a great jazz band. He's really good, too. It's an incredibly surreal experience. I was lucky enough to see both sets. Lots of great jazz tunes. Fly Me To The Moon, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Careless Whisper, Caravan, Nature Boy, I Could Have Danced All Night...so many amazing tunes. I even got to meet Jeff after the show. He's such a genuinely nice person. Very down to earth and kind. One of the most memorable experiences of my life.
Thursday: Last night I saw the Presidents of the United States of America at the House of Blues on Sunset. I've loved them ever since Lump came out and at the show last night, they played the entire first album! I also splurged and bought the meet-and-greet ticket, and it was definitely worth it. They are such a fun band to watch and also genuinely stand-up gentlemen.
Tonight I'm going to DJ Colette's birthday party up in Hollywood. Tomorrow I'm seeing Limp Bizkit (I know, I know) in Santa Ana. Sunday I'm going to a friend's graduation party. Monday I'm going to a pool party in Hollywood to see Miguel Migs.
If I don't post on Tuesday, it's because I'll be passed out. I hope.
